Mountshow, into its second year, will take place this year on 9, 10 and 11 September in Bardonecchia. With the approach of the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2005, this year’s programme will take in all aspects of “planet mountainâ€, from tourism, sport and technology to economy, the environment and food and drink.
Last year’s success has encouraged the organisers to repeat last year’s winning formula: an event in the mountains, focusing on a territory of the highest quality (the heart of the Olympics 2006 area), in the marvellous setting of the Upper Susa Valley, with the beauty of its nature and its visitor and sports facilities which are second to none.
The three days of the festival include events galore – some indoor, others outdoor, but all free of charge. The whole of the Upper Susa Valley will come alive for an event rounding off the summer season. The organisation will be all-embracing, and will focus on a series of theme villages: Institutional-Olympic Village, S.O.S Village, Ski Village, 4×4 Village, MTB Village, Junior Village, Fun Village, Mountain Community Village.
New events this year will include a day devoted to games for the disabled organised by CIP (the Piedmont branch of the Italian Paralympic Committee); the third National Championship of five-a-side football organised by the Interior Ministry, the Fire Brigade and Civil Defence; a whole Village devoted to entertainment and food and drink, open until late.
