A new well for Afghanistan from Switzerland. Thanks to a contribution from the ORS Service AG company of Zurich to “Mountains of Peace – Mountains of Warâ€, the scheme run by DiscoveryAlps in association with Omid, a total of ten wells have now been funded. This is a major achievement and a real step forward for a country which, despite media attention having shifted to the situation in Iraq, continues to suffer from a severe lack of water. This tenth well means that we are half-way towards achieving our goal: the construction of twenty wells for drinking water, which will meet the needs of 120 to 150 thousand people.
The scheme is still going on, like water flowing into a mountain lake. We can fill the lake, but we need help from all of you.
